Ronald McDonald House Durham

WorldLegacy’s NC173 leaders stand for love, freedom and unity in a peaceful world.  NC173 chose to manifest this stand by leaving a legacy in the domain of children.  They chose the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC to create this project.  WorldLegacy’s NC173 Leaders raised $14,650 in cash and in-kind donations in less than one week for the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC.  NC173 invited people to partner with them to help sick children be with their parents when they are being treated for serious illnesses.  $11,870 in cash was raised to adopt three rooms, for a year, in the Ronald McDonald House of Durham/Wake, NC.  At $3,650 per room, multiple families throughout the year will be able to stay for free.  Some of these families need to stay for weeks or months at a time.  A child fighting a serious illness should not have to face it alone.   In addition to the financial contributions, NC173 donated the following items:

  • One 1.7 Cubic Foot Refrigerator

  • Sixteen Waterproof Mattress Pads (Twin)

  • Eight Waterproof Mattress Pads (Queen)

  • Fifteen Thermal Blankets

  • Two IKEA High Chairs

  • One Badger Basket Doll High Chair

  • Four Sets Heavy Duty Shelving

  • Four Portable LED Camping Lanterns

  • Fifteen Books, The Next Place by Warren Hanson

  • One 14.5 Cubic Foot Freezer

A celebration was created for the families with desserts, balloons and flowers.  See Press Release

    Total Budget:  $14,650
