WorldLegacy’s NC177 Leadership Team’s vision is a united world filled with full self-expression. Our vision is a world where everyone takes care of each other, stands for each other and spreads love and respect, joy, happiness, freedom and passion. We are committed to a world filled with abundance, where families are safe, and people are healthy, free, courageous and bold.
This WorldLegacy project aligns with our vision because it provides a safe place for individuals recovering from mental illness. Our mission is to assist and promote people with mental illness in their life effort and improve their social and vocational skills. We are committed to them being fully connected to their families and fully self-expressive.
WorldLegacy NC 177 Leaders created an extreme makeover for the Vincent House in Florida. The Vincent House aids community members recovering from mental illness by helping them gain independence through education in social skills and gaining employment.
The team removed a wall between two rooms to create a large wellness center where members of the Vincent House could exercise, practice yoga and connect to their physical health as well as their mental health. The team repainted the walls, replaced the flooring and installed treadmills, four stationary bikes, and a set of weights and associated storage rack. The team also painted four other rooms to create a fresh and pleasant atmosphere for members and staff. In addition, the team replaced the ceiling tiles in two rooms, replaced four ceiling fans and also installed mirrors at the wellness center. The team had more than 60 volunteers participating over the weekend. Budget: $40,000
